Narrative
It follows Cicely, a young woman who spends the summer in a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his new lover Elsa. Their lively compatibility is a light and boring world. I only give these two stars for the beautiful cinematography and soundtrack. The rest looks like characters in one of those stupid American comedies that try to be French-like. It just comes out with that eternally tired, topical tone that permeates the aforementioned films. Like Britney Spears reading Francois Sagan. I’m not much of a fan of French cinema, so this is not a jealous defense, but simply an expression of the pain of having to go through it. The ending is particularly confusing, lacking the opportunity for at least some mystery. Chloe Sevigny is one of the worst actresses of all time.
