Muriel and her husband Lee are about to embark on a bright new life, which is shattered by the arrival of Lee’s brother. Muriel begins a secret life, gambles on racehorses, and discovers a love she never thought possible. The film’s first promotional still gives the misleading impression that the story might involve a romance between Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Julius (Jacob Elordi).
