Simba, who has become king of the Pride Lands, is determined to have his cub follow in his paw prints as his late father Mufasa’s origins are investigated. James Earl Jones, who played Mufasa from 1994 to 2019, died at the age of 93 on September 9, 2024. When he was offered the role, he turned it down and this film is dedicated to his memory.
