Will he capture the fort at all three gates?
Narrative
A journey where a man finds love and fights for his homeland. When I found out that AP Arjun was directing a story written by Arjun Sarja and starring Dhruva Sarja, I could have guessed from a mile away how ordinary the film would be. Ravi Basrur’s background music is not my favorite but it is worse than all his previous works.
There were twists and turns in the first half
Arjun Sarja’s previous directorial ventures (especially the ones starring his daughter) were a disaster so it is only natural that he gets confused with Dhruva Sarja’s Martin. But this time the director is AP Arjun who had earlier given Dhruva Sarja some decent rom-com hits. His direction is good in some scenes but fails in all the others.
There were some good camera shots, but they were few and far between
While all of them were predictable, some were surprising due to the script style. And when I started feeling that things would get better, I started going downhill again. This time the mess was even worse, noisy editing, loud and nonsensical background music, weird dialogues (there is a dialogue where Martin rhymes with protein), tanks, bicycles, bombs, green screen deserts, cgi battles and more!
The color grading is average
Other production values are just decent. The only good thing about the movie is that they didn’t give anything away in the trailer. They intentionally kept the audience’s expectations low so that this movie would be at least “average”; When it is below!
The movie has everything except a logical story and good direction
There were no funny scenes in the movie (at least considering how vulgar kfi comedies are), maybe because the movie itself is funny?! Unless for whatever reason you want to hide in a theater, it is best to avoid.
